Damaged

I have access to a lab and a bit of gold in my possession and was looking to gold plate a thing or two in my xb but can't seem to decide what to plate.

There isn't really anything metal around the dash that could be plated so I was thinking about chrome or copper plating something first to have something for the gold to stick to.
So the real question is has anyone removed the scion symbol on the steering wheel and can help me too do it? Or the xb over the glove box?
Or anyone have any other suggestions on what I could gold plate?
