"Clear" glass still blocks 20-30% of light. Some windows will actually say min trans 70%. The majority that I meter is in the 72-78% range.

All standard auto-glass is tinted, usually green. It is more noticeable in a convertible, where you can compare-and-contrast, making it VERY visible. Heck, just compare your windscreen and an open side window, in ANY vehicle.
Usually, the difference is a built-in subtle green tint.

Here in Cali..the most common combination is 20% for all windows rear of driver and 50% for two fronts. You want classy look...go 35% all the way around. Most domestic pre "shaded" vehicles are 20% so if in Hawaii you can go that dark or even darker at 5% "Limo" tint it becomes a matter of preference. Good luck brah! Hope this newbie's info helped.

All the car company's are going with different hues lately. New Lexus and scions are more tan than anything. Not the xb's but frs for sure.
