We have updated results for the xB to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 45, about average, but small sample size

2008: 21, better than average

A big thank you to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

We'll have updated results next month. Additional participants always helpful. Especially need 2009s and 2010s.

We have updated results for the xB to include owner experiences through September 30, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 40, about average, but small sample size

2008: 25, better than average

Everyone who has been helping, thanks, I certainly appreciate it. We'll have further updates in February and May. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

We've also introduced two new statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop. We don't have these for the first-gen xB yet, though, because they require a larger number of responses. So if you aren't already participating, please consider doing so.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Updated results next month. It looks like we'll be just two responses short of the minimum for a full result for the 2009. So additional participants would be very helpful.

Got my email to update my info and then an email to check results--very happy I did this. I sent the link t all my friends as they have info on all car brands. Not only is it good to track the vehicle you own, but the site is a good place to look if you are thinking about a future purchase and want to know about a certain make/model. If you haven't got on this band wagon yet--you should!

We have updated results for the xB to include owner experiences through December 31, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 37

2008: 23

Both are better than average.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

In the case of the 2008 xB, the percentage with no repairs is about 80, and the percentage of lemons is less than one.

A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record.

As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May, with a preview for participants in mid-April.

2008: 20

Both are better than average.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

In the case of the 2008 xB, the percentage with no repairs is about 78, and the percentage of lemons is less than one.

We have updated results for the xB to include owner experiences through June 30, 2010.

Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the more recent months until the summer or even fall of next year.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 21

2008: 32

Both are better than average. With the 2009 we were a single car short of the minimum for a full result, so on the site it's asterisked and visible only to signed-in members.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

In the case of the 2008 xB, the percentage with no repairs is about 68, and the percentage of lemons is less than one.

Everyone who has been helping, thanks, I certainly appreciate it. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.
