I can work with the backward fin, Jack, but now you gotta get rid of the Skull and Stripe.... The optical makes it appear as though your center piece is way off center....

Figuring out a few things . . .

I'll add more:
I am about to remove the stripe (waited to see if I liked the hood ornament first).
Then, a special flag will go on the roof (have red and need blue vinyl). Some magnetic material will allow some adaptation to it, so that it can make several variations (couldn't decide on one, so figured this out).

I doubt many bother with this thread, but I enjoy adding to it, hoping to inspire some random lurker to make the world a better place and have some fun.

Anyways, I am working out several future directions and then decide which to prefer and actually apply.
Those are:

Moonshine Runner/Hopped-up, retro/vintage stocker (late-40s to Early 50s based US or up to mid-60s British)

Panel Truck/delivery sedan

Hot Rod

[edit: a number of shots aren't showing up, oh well. the point is made.]

I think the xB, when "retro-ed" right looks like the front of a 1949/50 Ford grafted into a "bobbed" 1948 Ford Panel or Woodie (rear fenders esp) with a bit of Morris Minor, Austin A35, Commer Cob/Hillman Husky, DIVCO and Toyopet Masterline/Crown thrown in.
I am heavily looking at and referencing those models.

Oh, and I happen to have JUST won this on ebay:

(Picts from the ebay posting, not me)

One of the hobbies I am picking up is making wooden paipo and alaia boards. The actual fabrication and shaping is interesting to me, even if I am not what I would consider a good surfer. My son will be (he is VERY talented athletically, unlike his old man). My neighbor happens to be one of the "classic" longboarders from back when there were but a handful in South Carolina. I am hoping he can teach/mentor my son to do it the right way.

I'm glad I detoured from the "rally look" as this retro look is much more "me,"

even if I drive like a rally driver . . .
Most of the time . . .
(Some would say ALL the time, but I do pull back when necessary and/or appropriate)

As for the roof, it is being worked out. As it is cold (winter), there isn't the push. The present plan is solid blue, with either magnets switching it between a Scottish St Andrews or South Carolina's cresent and palmetto, or I'll just make it the St Andrews most likely.
A possibility remains that I could do it in red as a variant of:

It has ZERO to do with the historical Christopher Moody, though it now carries his name . . .
It is from a 1745 French manuscript and is listed as a pirate flag, most likely one from the Americas used by British (and American colonials) sailors.
It's my favorite pirate flag.

Sheet magnets. Simple stuff, commonly used for temporary, reusable logos.
I would make this moon and tree with it:

And that same moon and the letters:

Or the X of

The alternate is to apply something similar to, but with silver instead of white:

But with the blue part larger.
Then use the above South Carolina and Scottish flags in that part (make a unique flag)
