That's really neat. Are those sheet magnets strong enough to stay on the roof?

I always enjoy reading your build thread(s) TJ. You have such creative ideas. I like how you bring historical perspectives into your plans.

I didn't even know what car modding was until I started reading this forum after I bought my xB!

Thanks for the frequent updates and all the work you do as a mod on this forum too.

Basic idea:
Moonshine Runner/Tripper
OR
Surf wagon
OR
Rally Car (old-school style, ALA 1950s and 60s Rallye Monte Carlo)

Depending on context and mood.

I am now planning my boards, by pulling out old books for pictures, on-line research, and so forth.
They WILL be very, very "old school" (ala Bishop Museum Collection, for anyone who knows what that is) . . .

The B sides are still an open question.
The roof is largely set (either St Andrews, Liberty, with or without the lettering).

How the nose looks right now:

The stripe is, most likely, coming off whenever it gets warm enough for me to do it.
The hood ornament is new.

Present projects:
-Fairings (making a few options for different looks and ones that "look right")
-Paipo/Alaia boards:

Those are 4' and 6' boards for bodyboarding, which works well on the small waves of the South Carolina coast.

And the stripe is gone:

And you see how the fairing, as-is, no longer "fits" the look.

Your xB is coming along nicely. It is unique and very well thought out.

I really liked your stripe. I see why you took it off though - didn't fit the new look.

I'm diggin' it much mroe without the stripe, as it does fit the look much better. Without all the changes, the stripe was great.... Just needed to clean it up for the retro appearance thing.

I got your Text pics.... been crazy around here this last couple of weeks.

Fairing update:

That is the Thule fairing with the mounts altered to fit to a Yakima rack.
It took a good bit of planning, some trial and error in design, but the final solution for a secure mount was pretty simple.
