Looks good, took away some of the busyness of everything. As did removing the stripe. I agree with the others, with the new look it looks better without the stripe, as well as with the new fairing

Going from "rally car" to "retro" is a massive change . . .
Esp. when it's winter (hehehehe)
Thanks for the compliments!

Anyone got ideas on how to get it's rearend to match the style of the face?

That reminds me.
I need to swap the red side stripes to a chrome molding line on the upper one and a thin black one for the bottom.
Also, one of my center caps popped off at some point and vanished. In trying a couple ideas, I discovered that the simple hardware store 2.5" plastic hole cover/cap fits PERFECT. I got some to make all 4 match (well, the 2 they have and plan to get 2 more when they restock) with a satin-vinyl cover (to blend into the wheel), with the now-possible ability to make a few neat sets once I figure out my final style I want (red?, Chrome? Silver? larger t3q logos? remake new "m" ones? something else?).

Hmm, I am trying to think of a way to make the back more in line with the front. The best thought I can come up with would be mounting the spare on the hatch. Also, what potential would there be for making the roof white?

Thought of a white roof . . . but . . .

The roof is gonna be a flag, just deciding which one:
Scottish St Andrews (blue w/ white X)

South Carolina state flag on either blue or red

(red would match the red down low)

Or a variation of this one, actual pirate flag from a 1740s manuscript & older than that:

OR the 1775 Fort Moultrie Flag, which is on Sullivan's Island, SC-> right where I like to bodysurf (just on the north side of the Charleston harbour entrance, and one of my favorite all-time flags and the basis of the present South Carolina flag. My concern would be if someone has co-opted it elsewhere in the country . . . for something I may or may not agree with (like the Gasden Flag, which was a hair's breadth from BEING the US Flag, along with the Rattlesnake as the national emblem rather than the Rattlesnake (Ben Franklin REALLY wanted the snake, which he had been using since the 1750s for the colonies, whereas the turkey he is of listed as was actually just him making fun of the scavenger eagle as less appropriate than the silly, ungainly turkey.)

I LOVE the Gasden flag, which I used to use A LOT over the last 20 years and thought of using it, until the Tea Party become so closely associated with it. Now, it is too "I think it means" for my intent . . .

One earlier idea won't happen as the planned striping wouldn't work with the roof's bumps (would look "off" to me).
I also realized that my original plan of doing either solid red or blue and using magnets won't work thanks to those same roof bumps keeping large magnets from laying flat.

Plus, it's too cold to do the vinyl now anyways. Gives me time to decide.
I will do either solid red or blue (using 8' of 48" wide vinyl), then add the other graphics to it.
Each flag has it's own pros and cons.
The white graphics may be done in either silver or a grey rather than an actual white. The pirate one would be red, yellow, black, and grey.

Also, if anyone actually measured the roof, it is (between the black bars) 47" at the front and 42" at the back. That means they aren't actually parallel . . .

Anyone have an opinion on the flags, to sway me to finally decide?
At least, it is ONLY vinyl, so it can be easily redone whenever I feel like it.

Oh, and the new center caps would be either t3q logos (large) or match the roof flag (esp if Scottish)

And the upper red pinstripe will be removed, a 1/2" chrome strip added, and then decide whether or not to redo the red pinstripes differently.

Thanks.

I have some ideas, but it makes the rear chrome "bumper" MUCH higher than the front.

For the flag . . .
I'm thinking: Scottish flag, with the South Carolina moon and palmetto superimposed in red
Should look nice.

OR . . .
Blue, mid-or-dark gray "X" and white moon and tree . . .

Well, the flag will be on hold till more $$$$ and enough heat to get it to shape to the roof. When done, it WILL be a blue field, gray X and the crescent and palmetto tree in either red or white (depending on best contrast to the blue and gray used when I do it (lighter gets red, darker gets white)
Till then, will do some new side and rear chrome trim (complete the retro-modern look)

In the interim, I am thinking of making a large graphic of a flying pig (from above) in red, using materials I already have.
I DO NOT like the empty roof . . .

Long term I am thinking one of these schemes (I have ALWAYS planned to paint it, which affected me getting silver over other shades-> exposed stock paint would look "metal")
Mid-Gray with red accent (as seen on this Austin A35 pickup):

Darker green (would do the SAME Lotus Racing Green/Spruce Green of my Miata-> which was also a standard BMC shade)

Brighter green (most likely would use Scion's "Envy Green" as on the xB RS3):

Love green cars, I always say my next car would be green. I like a dark green with black accents myself, like a green hornet style.

So I like the 2nd pic the best but idk the first one looks great with the gray almost matte color with the red. Maybe if you do the scion cement color, like on the tc2?
