Default New to the New Scion xB Forum

Hey folks, new guy here. I purchased my '08 xB last summer to replace a gas guzzling truck. I like the xB style and I can still haul stuff. My xB will be non-typical because I am a DIYer and will us it like a truck and for weekend excursions. There are probably others that do the same so I hope to learn some tricks on getting the most form my xB. I'm an old fart too so I have a lot of experience that I hope to share. My xB has OEM fog lights, overhead console, OEM aluminum wheels, removable roof rack, illuminated thresholds and xB floor mats. I have purchased a Bushwhaker rear bumper guard, a cargo net, C pillar storage nets and will bet getting a 1-1/4" receiver hitch to haul bicycles with. I've added a K&N filter (OEM style) and I want to put different tires on it although that will not happen this year. I love owning the xB and this will be a 200K mile car before it goes...I know Toyota quality will easily take it there with proper maintenance.

Welcome to the site! I'm glad you're happy with your xB.

How do you like the overhead console? What do you use it for? I thought about getting one, but I hate rattles and I imagine anything you put up there (sunglasses, etc.) would bounce around and make noise.

The only thing I have ever heard even a little in mine was when I had a single spare key and a set of sunglasses in there at the same time. Otherwise, I have 3 sets of sunglasses up there and they never make a noise, it is all padded.

Congrats on your B. I too have done a lot of mods to mine '09. One that I really like was adding a variable time intermittent control to the wipers as written in one of the forum areas. Another was to change the lamps to LED's,adding a usable cargo light, and HID head lights. So, have fun with your B now that the weather will get better. Looking forward to spring!

Ha! Sounds like a list of my favorite mods too. I'm also loving the switchback led bulbs I just bought from Myles. I wish I would have done it a long time ago.
