You must have special powers to get 29 average. I get 26 in my 5 speed.
By the way driving in that cold weather.. do you have problems going into second gear? Mine is hard to get into when I first start driving for like 10 mins.
I don't remember it doing that when it was hot.

No problems shifting in cold. Did drain factory trans oil and replace it with Mobil 1 synthetic a few months back.

I'll just assume that's a typo...
Wow yeah no way do I see 40mpg happening for a full tank! I have to go highway only to get 30. I will post my first 8000 miles when I get a chance. I record every fillup separately, but since I have it in a spreadsheet I can sum things up as well. It is pretty difficult to not drive for fun a bit though and I drive city most of the time so I might not have any pure "driving for mileage" tanks to go by except for road trips. I did notice a big difference when using different speeds on the highway. As you go above 60, it definitely drops off the mileage a lot. Actually I think the most efficient cruising speed is whatever is the slowest that comfortably keeps you in 4th gear.

Driving around town I get roughly 17-20 average, when I get on the highway it brings my average up to about 24. I drive so efficiently and don't understand how everyone gets such high milage. Im jealous

Remember that wind resistance is related to speed squared. As you start going faster wind resistance increases dramatically.

Think of a "J" shape. At the bottom it is more flat -> changing speed has a lesser (flatter) increase in wind resistance. Once you hit a certain speed though (the curve in the J) a small increase in speed makes the wind resistance go up very quickly.

You might have to move south for that to happen by the looks of your location

Well shoot, now I looked up the weather and it's actually colder here.

I still avg 21 and thats if i punish it or baby it lol. On the freeway it will do about 26 thats it. I do have a cai and borla axle back though. I did notice a drop when i installed my yakima rack, but no way its coming off too usefull! I just need to keep her nice and waxed so I can pull out that extra mpg lol. I dont belive anyone saying they get over 30 no way, unless you have dead on tire pressure, perfect climate, driver only nothing extra in the car clean and waxed, and no telling what else perfect lol!
