Default AUX inop

Ive had my car for about a year now. I just recently got curious to use the AUX port on it. I mostly used CDs because of the quality but would like to use Pandora through my phone. I plugged it in as stated in my manual and hit the AUX button but nothing happened. I tried different 3.5mm wires so that rules out. Its the Pioneer head unit with an oval in the middle. The SSP button on the right and MUTE on the left. Any ideas?

Just to rule this out...on my 2011 the AUX button first defaults to USB input. I have to press the AUX button again so that the display shows AUX. Only then will I hear something fed into the 3.5mm cable.

Hmm. I tried what you mentioned Brickpig and no luck. Ill remove my radio and take pictures of it. Maybe there is a loose plug back there somewhere. Is the AUX connector or port known for failures at all?
