Default New double din head unit

So I decided to get a new head unit, but didn't want to spend a ton. Best Buy has the Pioneer AVH-2300DVD on sale right now for $350, so I got it over the Kenwood that was $375. Got the Pioneer because you can add satellite, bluetooth, HD radio and navigation. Also got a box with two 10 inch Rockford Fosgate subs and an 800 watt amp. Very happy with all and the Pioneer fits great and makes for a nice finish, I recommend it. Make sure you also install a bypass switch so you can watch DVDs while the car is in drive. Here are a few pics.

Does the steering wheel control and the console aux/usb still works with this or you need to purchase stuff for it to work?

you need to get stuff so the steering wheel controls work, and the console aux prob doesnt work but if you were savy you could wire it, it would be a lot of work though.

the steering wheel controls are easy, that's just a separate box to wire in, but the aux is tough.

I removed my aux setup and just have an LED shut off and on switch there now.

So for the steering control I don't need to buy any special wires etc? I can live w/o the aux/usb also does this hu uses standard ipod/iphone usb cable to work? I saw a different cable usb and aux together do I need to use that?

I just use a straight ipod cable going right to the USB on the head unit.

you need something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Swi-ps-Pioneer-Universal-Steering-Interface/dp/B000AXW7SA http://www.amazon.com/Swi-ps-Pioneer-Universal-Steering-Interface/dp/B000AXW7SA

that's not exactly what you need, but you'll need to wire something like that in to keep steering wheel controls. mine work just fine. I had a pro do the install.

How much did the cable cost for the steering wheel control?
