Have you noticed any drastic changes in the gas mileage? did you swap over the TPMS sensors as well?
I love that the tC2 now shares the xB2 bolt pattern. These look awesome. I want to see someone take the RS 7 tC wheels off the high voltage and put them on a B, those wheels are so nice.
I used the original TPMS from my steelies. As far MPGs, i'm still on my first tank of gas after the change. Will let you know after a couple tanks of gas. So far so good...
I bought a set of these the other day for $400 wheels only. Debating on the tire size now. Anyone have any recommendations, opinions.
I've read 215/40/18 to maintain as close to stock with the speedometer, but not sure I want that size... the factory size from the tc wheels may be better... Thoughts opinions on the matter welcome. I'm new to the group. Cheers!:grin:
Welcome! That's a good size, it's very close to the stock rolling radius and just a little wider than stock for no problems with rubbing the fenders. If you wanted to go wider, you could instead go with 245/35/18, it will have the same rolling radius as the 215/40/18s would.
See the Size Comparer link at www.rimsntires.com to play with "what if" sizes and to get an idea of tires available in the size you want. Our stock tire size is 205/55/16 and our steel wheels have a 45mm offset. Have fun!
question for you.... i'm getting ready to have these put on now that I've purchased my tires... the stock wheels have lug nuts that don't fit the new wheels... did you purchase new lugs? I called toyota and they gave me a part number 90084-94001, and when i look online at some sites, the part number says it will not fit the '08 xb. Need some advice... It seems like that part number should do the trick, but just running into some mixed messages on varying sites. Any help would be appreciated.. thanks!
There are 3 kinds of lug nut "seats": Cone, Radius, or Shank. Our OEM lug nuts for the steel wheels are Cone seats. Toyota tends to use Shank seats for their alloy wheels. Naturally the thread for each lug nut (Cone or Shank) will be the same, M12 x 1.5 metric thread.
Toyota will charge you more for their lug nuts but you can get the same thing on Amazon for less cost.

Cool. Looks great. Gorilla ought to offer this system for Cone seats, not just Shanks.
One caution: I have a wheel lock on each wheel, plut spline drive lug nuts on the other 4 lugs on each wheel. I found out that the spline drive lug nuts, while more secure than regular lug nuts, use common keys. In other words, anyone else who bought spline drive lug nuts can take their spline key and use it to loosen my spline lug nuts. That's why I also have a wheel lock on each wheel. So unless your system has a Key that is unique (if so, Gorilla should have a registration card or something that is unique to your Key), I would also consider wheel locks.
Of course, I've also seen cases where people run around for years with OEM allow wheels and regular lug nuts and no locks and they never had a problem. It just depends where you go and who else happens to be there. And how paranoid you are or aren't....
...and a search on Amazon reveals that Gorilla does offer "The System" for Cone seats:
