I know this is a double post but I thought I would post it on both threads.

I had one fly off the other day on the Highway and my dealer will not cover it in the Certified Bumper to Bumper Warranty.

I was actually wondering if anyone knows if there's a noise issue, water flow or if it's just cosmetic to have these trim pieces.

I actually like the black strip along the channels but this seems to be an issue that's repetitive and almost futile to replace. We had some and ice and rain then temps in the 20's and I kinda figured the water sat in the channel, froze, expanded then the clips probably buckled.

If I have to spend money on it I thought it might be better to have one of those shops that does the vinyl wrap stuff just lay down a black strip in the channel. Problem permanently solved and the black channel will look natural to the untrained eye. If they only serve a cosmetic purpose... I think I'll give it a shot.

As for "frozen water" being the cause...Nah! My problems occured in SW Florida below the frost line...I'm thinking I will just fill the channel with black silicon.

Sun down parked under street light light snow coming down, and noticed rubber strip completely gone from passenger side roof rail. Initially thought vandalism, so came to see what the web said on matter.

Thanks folks for sharing all, not in the business of having money fly off on the the road... ...probably will not replace immediately if at all.

Has anyone taken a shot at what the rail-line looks like with it gone?
I was wondering how rough/smooth and deep the indention was.

I would either call a local scrap yard, or contact one on eBay. If you do a search for a large part like a door, you will get lots of results with photos of wrecked xB's. Contact one of those sellers and ask about the rubber trim piece.

Here are a few results I found.
08 09 10 11 12 Scion Scion XB L Rear Door L A21832 | eBay

08 09 10 11 Scion XB R Front Door | eBay

08 09 10 11 12 Scion XB Left Driver Side Rear Side Door | eBay
