Cheap HIDs are dangerous, annoying, and illegal almost everywhere. If you aren't replacing the entire light housings, don't do it. Expect a real HID conversion to cost several hundred at minimum, and it still probably won't be legal. An explanation here.
The zXe bulbs are decent in some applications, but they don't really look like HID, and they have a relatively short life expectancy.
on ebay. there is defferent prices, from 40 to 150.......
I really do not want to make it ugly,
I read in other post..... that they use a mercedes HID lights ...... that sounds good..... but I do not know which lights and what modification it is need it
You don't need to run expensive HID's. I bought a $50 h11 5K kit from HIDmasters (No sense in buying the 9005 high beam, you will just be wasting your money.) They are plug and play. I also added a switchback light and resistors. Total amount shipped was around $120 I think?
My understanding is the halogen projector has a smaller focal point compared to a hid projector, so adding a plug and play style hid kit will cause hot spots, ideally a retrofit would be best but depends if you wanna spend $ or $$$...
I put HID in my projectors, a kit I got from eBay (I've purchased 7 or 8 kits from the same seller and brand over the years). Kit I bought is 55w Ballast, 5k color, plug and play, definately increases the light output and with the factory projectors it keeps the beams directed in a fashion not to blind others. My MR2 Spyder on the other hand, in the halogen headlamp setup is obnoxious, however, being the smallest spec on the street, I'd rather be annoying and seen than a monster truck obsticle. Just my .02c.....
