Hey guys, I got a new mesh grille for the xb. I cannot for the life of me figure out how the lower one comes out!! Looks like there are tabs that you just release as there are no holes on the new one. Top one wasn't any problem at all. Put some more discreet fog lights behind the grille too. I have ALWAYS hated that ugly a$$ stock grille...I think this looks so much better than the stock grill it's unreal, but I wanna put the bottom section in too..

If you look closley you will see little areas all around that you need to take a little bitty flathead screwdriver or flat bar and slide it in between the grill and bumper you will feel the clip area and then just pop it out to the inside. You will have to fanagle the grill piece out. I just realized I have the same grill. I love it I acually plastidiped it and my middle bumper section.

Look through these fog light installation instructions from TRDSparks.com. They show how to remove the lower grill.

Good lord what a pain lol. So unesassary. Might as well if your going to be doing a bunch of wiring and such back there though. I can pop my grill out in like 1 min now ive gotten really good at doing it. Good luck sir! Oh and one last thing you may have to shave down the little tabs off the back of you license plate mount I had to make mine about an 1/8" narrower to get it to fit in the lower grill again.

It looks way more complicated than it actually is. I've had my front end off at least 3 or 4 times now. It only takes maybe 5 minutes to pop it off. Just make sure you have a blanket or something to lay it on so you don't scratch it.

Agree first time is the worst but after that it's easy. Here's a picture tutorial (please read the Disclaimer):

Done! It was actually easy to pull the fascia off. Had the grille out in like 5 minutes. I don't think I could have gotten it with the screwdriver method without breaking something. It's all good too because I added some LED accent lights that will light up the lower section. I have no idea how it is going to look until sunset. If it looks crappy I will just cut them loose. No harm. Also pulled the fogs down to center I the grille. I don't care for that water in gasoline looking colors on the lenses though. I have some tint that I think will cure that.

New lower grill looks great! I'm glad you were able to remove the facia without problem.
