Check these out. $4 for two strips. They are mounted with double faced tape on the bumper, but hidden under the hatch. Invisible from the outside. Wired them in with the stock lights. The video appears the lights blinking out of sync, but that's just my terrible camera. What do you guys think? Really bright too. Almost wish they were shorter. I guess i could cut em down. Top and bottom sections on the taillight are wired with an additional dual filament socket so that both sections light up instead of just the bottom one like stock.

Also thinking about drilling the upper chamber in the factory lights and installing just a simple parking light up there. Anybody ever tried that? Only worry I have is destroying the reflector inside. I don't think in my case it makes much difference since the lens is so dark you'd never see the damage. Doesn't look like there is much to lose because All three sections seem to be independent from each other, so if you screwed it up, it's sealed from the rest of the lamp. The lights look funny to me with that upper part out since I have the bottom two sections lit up now for parking lights.

Yeah, they are impressively bright too. I was shocked. I figured for that price they had to be crap, but they're not. I have two red strips coming as well for the brakes.
Tell you what would be cool? Is if you could make a drill template so you could drill any plastic pieces on the car...say like the door scuff plates, and have just the LEDs stick out. It would give a really nice finished look, but it would have to be super accurate for it to look good....or fit. I was thinking maybe a machine shop could cut me a template. Probably cost prohibitive, but would make for some cool installs.

Late to the party here, but I've been thinking about something along those exact lines. Any chance you could post a nice clear installation picture or two with the tailgate both open and closed so we could get a good look at how that worked out?
Thanks! |

Oh, it's ugly as **** with it open. I just have the wires taped down to keep them from getting caught. Eventually I am going to make a plastic cover to cover it up. Looks awesome from the outside which is my primary concern
