Took this today as the sun was hitting just right. I'm a picture junkie. Minor edit...

original:

Gonna do a small tinted strip across the top of the windshield. Looking for the wind visors that will fit flush as well, I saw the other threads, and was curios where people are buying from currently if at all.

Also picked up the Razo GT spec weighted shift knob with red leather accent. I removed the holding clip from the stock shifter and trimmed the shift boot some then tried my hand at stitching a pattern in to it. Wanted a flush look with the shifter. Came out ok. I'll post pics later.

eBay! Search for Scion xB 08 sun strip. Here's a installation how-to:
https://sites.google.com/site/brickp...hield-sunstrip
After living with this for a couple of years now, if I had to do it over again I would not ask them to make it 5" tall, but just leave it at the default 6" tall.

I used this same company (Filmvantage) for the sunstrip on my 2005 Camry LE V6 and it came out great also. On the Camry, the hole in the sun strip for the rear view mirror was precut.

You might check around - I had a local tint shop do a straight (I hate the curved ones) tint strip on my xB for $20.

Straight as in following the roof line?

Yep. Those silly curved ones are illegal in almost every state since they dip below the AS-1 line, and I don't want to get hassled over it.

That's what happens when you use a straight piece of tint. To make it follow the roof line it is actually pre curved.

Filmvantage (from the eBay link I provided) sells a sun strip that follows the roof line in 5% tint (very dark) for about $13 shipped. Plus you have the great feeling that you did it yourself.

On the other hand, $20 to have it done is pretty cheap...

If you can get a strip that follows the roof line for $20 I say go for it. I did mine myself and even though I tried to keep it as clean as possible, I still got some dust under it. Mine is also about 2" below the AS-1 line. But that line seems way too narrow. I've had no problems.
