Default 06xB - Battery removal - Does it lock the Radio?

Do I need one of these to prevent radio Lock, or cars computer protection.

I had a lot of corrosion on the positive terminal 2 weeks ago. I cleaned the battery post, top of battery, and the terminal clamps thoroughly, and wiped oil on all parts. Today, it was under 32 F and the car would not start. Reluctantly my neighbor came out and jumped me and car has started easily all morning long.

Last time my friend assisted me and had a cable that hooked to both terminals with a tiny charger he said i needed to keep the radio from being locked, radio stations settings and the clock setting. It did that nicely, this is a very different unit, but presume they all work, this one with a 9 vold battery would be temporary at best, but i am not certain if it will keep the radio from locking.

This is a new post, but I seem to have already covered it up with the continual spam posting question and asking about my Steel Wheels. Will visit AutoZone to check my battery, as something is wrong to have the positive cable and terminal clamps corrode quickly (14 days).
