Default Canadian 2014 XB not pre-wired for fog lights?

Well got myself a OEM fog light kit from the Sates side and unless I'm blind, looks like Canadian model are not pre-wired like the US one's for the fog lights.

Removed the dash panel under the steering wheel and the small connector for the switch is nowhere to be found. Haven't look near the bumper beam on each side yet but if the switch's connector is missing I'm guessing the light connectors themselves will be missing too

***EDIT*** Nevermind, just found this thread about the 2011 model...looks like it didn't change for 2014 : https://www.newscionxb.com/123-2nd-ge...ts-canada.html

I would just get a relay kit and do it yourself ,real simple install , then at least you can drive with them on without turning the headlights on . Thinking of doing that myself

Oh yeah, pretty easy install. Just trying to source out the H11 connectors to do a clean install. Ebay ones look cheap quality

I have a 2013. I would love to add fog lights. I can't tell who's legit and who has fake ones on ebay.

Is there a DYI on how to do this if you don't have the prewired kit installed?

When you read on E bay that the lights are OEM "like" not OEM than they are most likely not Scion made. If you still have a question, contact the seller and inquire. Good luck.

If you don't have the prewired kit installed, it's no big deal, it's just basic wiring.

You can feed power to your interior switch using the parking lights:
https://sites.google.com/site/brickp...-control-panel
(see the last picture) then find a ground for the light in the switch
https://sites.google.com/site/brickp...ill-kick-panel
(see next to last picture)
Need to run the switched power wire from the switch to the front, three ways to go:
- you can run the wire up into the driver's hinge post. On the US models there is an outwards-facing rubber plug about 3-4" below the upper hinge, remove it, cut a hole in it, poke the wire thru it then re-install the plug.
- Or you can poke the wire out of the rubber wire conduit (the same one that has your power windows, door locks, etc).
- Or you can poke out of the main wiring harness boot in the firewall above the brake pedal
Run the wire along the fender to the front. Remove the front fascia
https://sites.google.com/site/brickp...m-front-fascia
to get at the lower grill from the backside and also install a relay
https://sites.google.com/site/brickp...glights-detail
Make sure to install a fuse in the power line between the battery and the relay.

It may seem a little daunting (especially if it's your 1st time) but it can be done!

(Ta da! Your DIY has been written!)

Just found this out for myself as well. NO Wiring harness for Canadian Box. What a surprise.

Bought an ebay fog light kit and the dealer invoice said it took them 4.6 hrs to install.

Some of your might balk at this but I don't think they installed too many xB fog lights when it wasn't an available option.

I dropped off my car on my way to work in the morning, went back after work and viola! Instant fog lights. Not complaining.

Side bonus for non-oem relay - I can turn on the fog lights as long as battery is on, it doesn't matter if my headlight is on or off or on hi-beam.

The led indicator on the push button is a very bright green that is bright enough to light up my door switches, if anyone is considering a kit you might want to modify/dim the switch light before you complete the install.

For my driving position the light is blocked by the steering wheel, i.e. it's not shining into my eye, but YMMV.
