08 xb rear dvd aftermarket radio

I have an 08 xb and have the factory rear dvd and don't know if I can do an aftermarket radio and get the sound to play thru the stereo if someone has tried this please let me know I believe because it is tied into the aux that it won't work with a new stereo but I'm not sure
