I want to share this video looking for help of how can i get around this problem.

My xB is 107,978 miles now, bought new on January, 2008.

The sound only happened just when i'm in gear, noticeable on 3rd, 4th and 5th gear. I already changed transmission oil with Royal Purple 75w-90 without any change in the sound. Here is the video:

Please help find a solution to my problem! It is driving me crazy!

If your on a dyno it sounds very normal. OR Seein that the car isnt moving (which cuts on wind noise) Id assume tires off the ground. If it makes this same noise while driving I would guess ona bearing. The noise gets higher as it goes faster which means its not in any part that is shifting but one thats a constant. Hope any of my rambling helps.

Yes 5zero4, the supercharger sounding whine... it is more annoying than the seat belt chime XD

Yes Slorocket, it's off the ground on jack stands and yes it makes the same sound while driving but it is more noticeable in higher gears. I can even hear it when i'm down a hill transmission in neutral, clutch not pressed, but that way the noise is lower.

I asked the same question on Toyota Nation Forum and one helpful member told me:

"It sounds like your bearings inside the transmission is worn. Found a similar issue working on a Scion tC at my job." "The cheapest option would be sourcing a good used transaxle, second would be removing the transaxle yourself and take it to a transmission specialist. If you wanna rebuild it you'll need specialty tools and find out which bearings failed in the transmission. Not sure on the price but it wouldn't be as expensive as rebuilding an auto trans."

Yeh i agree on the bearing issues. Only thing that makes sense. Which one or ones is the hard part. Good luck, let us know what comes of it...
