my Honda fit sport used to do the thing with the fan kicking on and off. Super annoying so I know exactly how you feel lol. It was an easy fix and I believe its the same for the xb... Where do you leave your hvac controls set at? If ita on any of the defrost modes the fan will cycle on and off even if the blower is set to 0. Try just setting it to the feet setting and see if that stops the fan from cycling.

your fan is probably cycling because its always on defrost. Next time you're just sitting there in your car turn it off the defrost setting and see if the fan still cycles. If sorry I can't help with any of the other issues though.
