Check your book...it sounds like your speedometer is set for Kilometers per Hour (KPH) not Miles per Hour (MPR). It is a simple fix.

Check your book...it sounds like your speedometer is set for Kilometers per Hour (KPH) not Miles per Hour (MPR). It is a simple fix.So, how did I become the proud owner of an xb?
My friend purchased one in September. After going for a ride on her new car, I was hooked and had to have one. Two weeks later, I was a proud owner of my own xb.
What drew me to this site is trying to find an answer to a speedometer question. I'm getting weird readings. My readings show I'm speeding, yet, I know I'm not. I'd like to think that I just need to adjust it myself?
Please let me know if I need to post my question elsewhere.
Happy New Year!
Funny thing is that when I picked my xB up new...the speedometer was set for KPH....took me about 1/2 mile before I realized it and corrected it to MPH. Page 94 of 2008 Owner's Manual..."The speed units, km/h and MPH, can be selected by pushing the trip meter reset knob for more than 1 second when the odometer indication is displayed."Welcome!
Look next to the numbers. It has "MPH" or "KPH" and if KPH, Brewski is right.

the letters next to the reading starts with a "K", so the setting is wrong. i'll check the manual tomorrow.
