So I got the upgrade stereo from scion, non navigation one.
And I have a question, When I connect my iPhone via the iPod USB connection it Plays all audio through the stereo, which is fine.
Now my question is when I play a video on my phone it will play the audio through the car but no video.

But when I look at my phone it says video is playing on connected accessory.
I have looked everywhere to see if my stereo supports video but I can't find anything say yes OR no.

Maybe a firmware update.

I read somewhere an older xB stereo had a firmware update but you could only get it from the pioneer Japan website.

Any ideas on getting video to play.

I'd also like to mention that if my phone is connected via Bluetooth The video will play on the phone screen and audio through the car.

I have the USB and aux jacks in the centre console, and when I connect my iPhone using the USB jack my phone thinks that there is a video connection, because if I play any videos it tells me the video is playing on the "connected accessory". I can hear the audio through the car but no video.

Which makes me think the deck supports it somehow.

Did you try pulling up the parking brake? I think it is illegal to play video in a moving vehicle where it can be seen by the driver. That's why the video playback for in-dash dvd players is disabled unless you put the parking/e-brake on so it knows you aren't moving (unless you bypass it of course). I would assume your unit would have the same "feature" - if it has the ability to play video.

hahaha.

If you want a DVd player head unit, go with the Pioneer AVH series, 3200 or 4200. Ive have both, love them. Currently have 4200s in all my cars. Never had an issue and they can run to 2 other monitors without losing video quality. Anything more than 2 Id suggest adding a video amp.

You need two cables...but be prepared to spend some $$$

1. Apple connector -> 3xRCA composite

You can get these from the Apple store but they are v. expensive ($50). Prior to the latest iOS update you could use generic cables from China for $5 but now there is a chip in the cable that stops them working...thanks Steve :)

2. 3xRCA composite to 4-pole mini-plug ($20-30). Mini-plug goes in the aux in low on the dash. Make sure you get the one specific to Pioneer the pin outs are all different.

Unfortunately both of these cables are long (3-4'ea) which means there is tons of extra cable. I bundled up most of the cables in a coil and stuffed it under the passenger seat.

i think (at least it is true with the alpine unit in the 2010s) you have to buy a video adapter kit to play video. just because it has a screen and its color and everything, doesnt mean it will play video off the rip. for the alpine units, you have to buy a video adapter kit from alpine or your local dealer. i would check with your local dealer about a video adapter kit for the head unit. like i said, not too familiar with this particular unit, but i know its true for the alpine which is a color/touchscreen unit.
