Hi, i am getting my 2013 XB tomorrow, just have a question regarding on the Audio System. I am thinking of buying one online thru ebay. The deck im looking at is Eonon M1 (not sure if i can post link)... just wondering if the measurement fits the car ( size of the M1 is 178mm Length x 153mm depth x 100mm height )... This is actually the first time im getting a deck so not quite sure how it works, Thanks in advance

To make installation easier I would suggest wiring harness adapter such as
Scosche TA02B 1987 2012 Select Toyota Radio Installation Wiring Harness | eBay
that way you can wire it to your new stereo on your kitchen table then quickly and easily plug it to your stock wiring harness during installation. Also you can quickly put back in the stock head unit when it's time to sell the car, no alterations to your stock wiring harness.
Rather than eBay I'd suggest getting a head unit thru http://www.crutchfield.com/or http://www.sonicelectronix.com/, they both have comprehensive specs and customer reviews so you'll have a better idea of what you will be getting. Also they often throw in free adapter mounts and electrical harnesses. Sonicelectronix is slightly cheaper but Crutchfield is more in depth with their information.
Be aware that you will need a steering wheel control adapter (about $50) if you want to keep that function with your new head unit.

surprised your going with an aftermarket deck..unless its a big video screen I run a sub that peaks at 2500 of that thing with a huge amp and have absolutely no complaints and neither have any of my audio friends who have no choice to put a deck in to power a sub..for a factory deck u can't beat the scions

just one more question, if i do buy this... how do i install it lol... the back picture of the system seems so complicated... do we need to use all the cable? and BrickPig, how does that wiring harness adapter works? do i just connect it?.. I am a total noob on this.. thanks for the helps

if the headunit above is the actual one you are going to purchase then you are going to have to cut the ISO PORT plug so you can mate up with the wire harness (BrickPig) mentioned. all you need is some butt connectors and crimpling pliers. wiring harness will have the same colors as the colors on the headunit so matching them up will be easy this will make the installation a plug and play setup
dont be intimidated by all the wires; the easiest part is the wiring.
u may have to cut that black plastic piece (labeled ISOPORT) to access those wires. the other wires, labeled 9-21, you will only need to use if u intend on using those specific applications (back up camera, gps, RCA inputs, etc.) -not totally necessary for basic install.

crutchfield is an EXCELLENT resource for researching products...as was mentioned.
^^^thats wut u need for wiring any head unit to ur car. connect the wires from that to the matching (metra provides a color coded key) wires from ur new radio. then jus plug in the white harness to the factory plug in the dash...u can use crimp caps, electrical tape, twist connectors, wutever u want to connect the wires...simple stuff. bestbuy.com, sonicelectronix.com, everyone sells these
scosche makes dash kits for aftermarket radios- as was already mentioned. u can find those pretty much anywhere (online, bestbuy, sonic...etc.)
DONT FORGET TO DISCONNECT THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL...jus as a precaution.
u have to carefully pull the black bezel toward you (can use a screwdriver and gently pry the bezel off evenly) and then remove the slim lower plastic panel right below the radio...remove the bolts from the radio brackets, remove the radio, unplug harnesses, use the old brackets if you dont wanna use the shitty plastic ones that come with a dash kit (although i did and i gotta admit they work fine, jus be gentle) and fasten those to the new radio (small screws). hopefully u already wired the new radio harness to the metra harness adaptor and now its just plug and play time. scion harnesses conveniently include a ground wire so u dont have to find a spot to ground the radio.
before u put the bezel and panel back after u made ur connections, reconnect the battery and test the radio to make sure it works.

BrickPig, I see you suggested Crutchfield. I also like Crutchfield for all the info, but I spoke with one of their techs about a DVD receiver I was interested in and he said there were no install kits available for a 2013 XB as of now... that something changed after 2011.
So my question is... will any double din dvd receiver fit with the above dash kit and wire harnesses? I'm interested in the Kenwood DDX770 for the dvd, bluetooth, ipod, back up camera, and nav capabilities. Thanks

The dash did not change, so the only thing that I can think of is that in very late 2011 they changed the head unit to add HD Radio and Bluetooth. Looks like the antenna connector is different, but not the main wiring connectors such as power, ground, speakers, etc: http://www.newscionxb.com/129-classifieds/9692-scion-factory-2011-2012-radios.html
Maybe you can contact Crutchfield to find out more details?
sometimes crutchfields info is not 100% reliable; they insisted for a long time that the xB's stock speakers were 5.25" front and 6.5" rear (which is incorrect). they may just not have all the specs for the new 2013 and they seem to like to be thorough with regard to the information they give out, as their rep depends on that...so the rule prolly is "when in doubt, say no" for them...i doubt scion did anything to the 2013 with the exception of the minor cosmetic changes to the front and rear of the vehicle...
