With interest rates so low I couldn't think of a good reason NOT to build a new garage. The Silver Brick now has a decent home.

My old Nissan pick-up gets the damp, leaky old garage. At least it doesn't have to sit outside any more.

Great pic's. This project reminds me of when I had almost talked my wife into it. I blew it when I mentioned a lift. I was THAT close!

It took me about six months to convince my wife. Started with the fact that it meant no longer lugging stuff uphill from the old garage on the street to the house, (the new garage is 8' from the kitchen door), no more struggling with the garage door, (couldn't put an opener on the old garage because there was no secondary access), she would have a place for the freezer she's always wanted (like I need a freezer this time of year), and there would be lots of storage space for all of the treasures she drags home from flea markets and tag sales. She also got a new car out of the deal. Nothing I would have selected, but she loved the color and it had the bells and whistles she wanted, so nothing else mattered. It also means the xB no longer gets used as a giant mobile purse.

She doesn't know about the lift.
