Yes it is quite normal. I obsessed and saved up money for six months. I've had mine for two months and am still deliriously in the honeymoon period. Every day I get in my xB and smile and think to myself, "I LOVE THIS CAR". It is so unique, practical and just damn cool.

What color are you getting? Automatic or Manual trans? What accessories? Plans for modding?

More info, please!

I have the same questions as Ryeguy so I'll wait for your answers.

hey guys!
I ordered an automatic black sand pearl.

accessories:
rear spoiler
fog light kit
grille
led tail lights by TYC
remote engine start (from toyota)
under dash and cup holder illumination
molded dash applique
pioneer premium sound system
19in TRD alloy wheels
TRD sport muffler

i pretty much was able to get the stuff i really wanted right off the bat.
as far as future mods, im going to wait till i get used to driving it and see what other changes i would like to make :)

please give me some comments on the accessories i ordered if either of you have any of them.
im super excited!!

Wow, that's quite a package! Only thing we have in common is the Black Sand Pearl. Otherwise, I got a manual transmission, everything else stock - only accessory I bought was floor mats. I'm an old fart and not really into mods but I enjoy reading about what the "kids out there" are doing with theirs and I still love my xB more than any car I've owned. I am considering buying the overhead console box, just for extra stowage space for "small items" :naughty:

Regarding the color... be prepared to spend a lot of time washing your new baby. The BSP shows dirt and dust to an annoying degree (see separate thread called "Dust Magnet").

I got alot of those same accessories added on and I am glad I did. You will find it is well worth it to have those things put on. It usually makes the payments a little higher but I don't have a cash tree in back so I had to do what I could do to get what I wanted on it.

That list looks good. And no you aren't crazy at all. Some people say I went off the deep end with this car. But what the hey I can swim........

I owned another black car and don't remember seeing this much dirt and dust, but then again I didn't care about that car nearly as much as I care about the xB... so, it's possible it was there and I just didn't notice.

My wife accuses me of obsessing over keeping my car clean and I say, "what is life without a healthy dose of obsessing? Pretty boring."

haha exactly!! i wanna swim too lol. i went in with a monthly payment range in mind and hit it almost exactly! yes, i obviously could have saved myself some money every month by not getting all the accessories but thats why i wanted this car in the first place. to have fun with it!

i hope i like the grille upgrade. it was between that and the overhead console box. but i figured i could just add that in later anyway...

if your not going for a after market sunroof a overhead console is a must-and they are very easy to install yourself so you can save $$
how easy is it to install? do you have to drill holes into the roof? ???

I am thinking about the overhead console box myself. I have read in other threads that all the holes are already there, so there's no drilling. The worst of it is working up the courage to take a razor and cut into the headliner. Beyond that, it's pretty easy.

I just had an evil thought... If your significant other can take a practical joke, you could be driving along, fake some road rage, freak out and stab your headliner. I'd do it, but that's one reaction I know I'd regret seeing from my wife :p
Now . . . THAT is an idea . . . !

(My wife would think I was loosing my mind.)
