Hey guys i know there has to be a DIY for this but i cant seem to find it here on the site. I want to do LED strips under the dash and rear seats to light up the foot area of my xb. I know its super easy but i suck when it come to electrical s***.

If i want to have an on/off switch do i just run a wire from the battery to a switch i buy from one of these places or do i tap into any wires under the dash?

I havent bought the kit yet but ill prob get something from oznium. I just really dont know where to start. If anyone has a DIY (preferably with pics lol!) that would be a BIG help. I dont wanna buy the kit and then not know what to do.

Thanks in advance guys/gals.

I have Oznium 9.5" LED strips under the dash, LED Pods on my sub box, and LED bars on each end of the back seat. Because I have a factory Nav unit I just use the ignition wire from my amps. I have 4 more 9.5" strips to install under the front seats and another 2 strips for under the hood.

The easiest option is to "Add a Circuit" to the 7.5a IGN fuse in the fuse box. This will allow you add a fused ignition triggered wire that can be ran through the firewall into the car for your LEDs. Here is a link to a conversation about "Add a Circuit" http://www.newscionxb.com/131-audio...-wire-vent-lights-daytime-running-lights.html

I am not an expert either on auto wiring but this stuff hasnt been that complicated to do.

Use the "Search" button for threads on LED's.
And browse ScionLife too. There're plenty of DIY's and pictures within their xB2 and tC forums. (tC has similar cabin fuse box as ours - I did my daughter's tC so I know for fact.)

Try this thread too, I contributed some pictures of the under dash lighting. More pics of LED cupholders etc. are in my own personal Image Gallery thread titled Bento Box.

And this one shows how I did the rear cupholders. Gotta thread the wires thru the door's grommet for this job.

I am doing my cupholders next. I am also dying to change my cluster and other amber control lighting to blue but soldering is just not something I am good at. Hoping to find someone here in S FL to help with that project.
