I don't know about the armrest question, but you can purchase a module that enables your steering wheel controls to function with the new deck. I've got a Pioneer AVIC-D3 and it works fine with the module.

I just bought the 2010 xB on Wednesday, and I payed almost $300.00 to have them oput on a passenger arm rest, for them only to call me today, and say it can not be done! apparently......one has been created by scion, but it is not available for purchase, and they dont know when it will be available, so I put the money toward the overhead console. hope this helps

I also have the Overhead installed. I'm glad I did, it gives me more places to store things like my sunglasses and CD's. It doesn't seem to be obtrusive at all and really gives a look like it belongs there. I'm thinking about picking one up for my daughters XB!

FYI there never was one made by Scion. At least for the xB, there was for the xD however and the earlier model xB's not our Gen 2's though.
