Hello, I have a 2012 Scion Xb RS9.0 Limited Edition Model with the large touch-screen stereo. I have two phones, an iPhone 4 and a Galaxy S3. With either phone, once I connect to the bluetooth on the stereo I will see all of the phone options such as dial pad, contacts, etc. After about one minute, the dial pad and contacts will be greyed out so I can no longer access those functions, then maybe a few minutes later the options are back again, then it drops again. This happens to both phones so I know it's not a problem with my phone. I am still able to make calls using the speed dial feature on the stereo or if I dial from the phone itself, the bluetooth engages and I can use the stereo to speak. Is there a problem with my stereo or is this common?

Thanks in advance.

Have you noticed if this relates to whether you are moving or the car is in gear? I have a different HU, but mine won't let me use the contacts or dial pad when the car is moving so you don't take your eyes off the road. In fact I have to have the parking brake engaged (haven't bypassed that yet). BTW I only thought about bypassing it so I can have my passenger use the touchscreen while the car is moving.

Hmmm interesting... I will have to test that tomorrow on my way to work and get back to you. If that is the problem, do you have instructions to bypass it?
My RS6 came with a different HU (Pioneer). I've seen the bypass instructions for mine all over the web. I'm sure you could find instructions pertinent to your HU. I believe that there is a wire going to the parking brake that needs to be grounded. Some HU's also have a speed sensor though which also needs to be disabled.
