Is it better to get aftermarket pads like from hawk,ebc? or sticking with the oem replacements? what do you guys think?

Depends on how aggressive a driver you are. Hawk, etc are overkill for reasonably normal driving. My OEs are capable of gripping very well, much harder than I normally need.
