Tried to open the hood today and the hood release wouldn't pop it open. Reached behind the lever and tried to pull the cable, but no luck.

Anybody have this problem or know how to bypass the release lever to get the hood open?

Finally got it open. I disconnected the linkage from the release lever under the dash and pulled on it with a pair of pliers while my wife lifted up on the front of the hood. There doesn't appear to be any adjustment. I gave the latch mechanism a shot of WD40 and it works okay using a pair of pliers. Reminds me of the days when I owned an MG.
