Hey guys,

As of lately, my car alarm is just going off at random times without anything setting off (as far as I know of). I'm not sure what could be causing this but what do you think the solutions could be? It is getting to the point of annoying and I'm just considering taking it in to the local shop but I want to avoid that if possible because I don't want to spend to money if I don't have to.

It's just the standard Scion security. I mean I sometimes park under a tree but even when I don't, it still goes off. As for all the doors being closed, it won't allow you to lock your car unless all the doors are close so I don't think that is an issue as well.

disconnect your battery terminals, and then connect them to each other. this will clear any codes and any odd issues, wait about a minute, then connect that battery back up.

Please help! EMERGENCY! Alarm goes off; car won't start

Could I please have some help? I spent hours trying to figure this out, but couldn't, and with my car not starting, I have no way of getting to school.
I bought a used HONDA CRV 2006 and installed an AFTERMARKET ROCKLEDGE SECURITIES ALARM SYSTEM.

My previous issue that I spent days figuring out, was that I forgot to turn off the headlights on my car, and when the battery ran out, we COULDN'T RECHARGE the car because the ALARM SYSTEM WOULD SOUND, and the car was unchargeable. Eventually I had to REMOVE THE HORN FUSE, and FINALLY PUT IT BACK in the fuse box in the hood of the car. And press a button on the inside of the car by the driver's side to get the alarm system to stop sounding.
I have since resolved that problem.

My current problem that is driving me crazy :( :( :( is that I pulled my car into my driveway one day and all of a sudden the CRAZY ROCKLEDGE ALARM SYSTEM WONT STOP GOING OFF AS SOON AS I TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THE ONLY THING THAT FINALLY STOPPED THE NOISE WAS GOING INTO THE FUSE BOX IN THE HOOD OF THE CAR AND REMOVING THE HORN FUSE.
HERE'S THE PROBLEM THOUGH -- W/OUT the HORN FUSE, there is no noise and the alarm doesn't go off. HOWEVER, W/OUT THE HORN FUSE, the car WON"T START. Then WHEN I TRIED PUTTING the HORN FUSE BACK into the MAIN FUSE BOX so the car will work, the CRAZY ALARM GOES OFF AGAIN.
My Car currently is W/OUT THE FUSE so the crazy alarm doesn't sound. But the Car won't start w/out the fuse either. Can't drive it. School starts Tuesday. I worked on it for days today.
If you have HONDA CRV or ROCKLEDGE SECURITIES EXPERIENCE, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!
Thank you!
Mary

The most likely reason the car won't start is because the alarm is still triggered (even if the horn isn't sounding). Your alarm thinks someone is trying to steal your car and has disabled the starter.

The best advice I can give you is to call the store that installed the alarm. If that isn't possible, I would call Rockledge. They should either be able to trouble-shoot the problem with you or at least tell you how to disconnect the alarm until you have time to take it somewhere to be fixed.

I found this on their website: 24/7 TECHNICAL SUPPORT LINE 1.888.600.1440

I know there are a few professional installers who post on here. Hopefully one of them sees this and can give you more specific help.

Good luck

Just use your main key in either door cylinder until it stops. That's not the aftermarket alarm triggering and immobilizing, it's the factory one. Whoever installed that alarm of yours didn't also wire into the factory alarm disarm wire, which is separate from just unlock. So when you lock with the aftermarket remote, or just with the key, it arms the factory alarm. Then when you unlock with the remote, it doesn't disarm it but unlocks anyways and triggers the factory alarm when the door opens or the ignition is sensed. Only way to fix it is to hit the factory alarm disarm wire that is above the pass kick panel fuse. Definitely diode isolate when you run the wire off the unlock from the aftermarket system. Or you could also just stop using the aftermarket system all together.

I had the same problem alarm kept going off after I change the battery. My fixed is the pioneer radio make sure the illumination color is in orange not blue, seems the default was on blue after changing the battery and use your key to lock/unlocked your door then turn on your ignition and should be back to the original state. It works on mine no annoying horn alarm..
