So I've decided to wrap my hood and roof Nd have a question for anyone who has wrapped their hood. How did you finish the edges? I've done my side mirrors and back hatch garnish, but the edges are hidden. I don't want to how the crappy edges when my hood is open....

i was hoping you would jump in on this. I've never seen that before. I think I might have some fun with that. So you put the tape down, put the vinyl over it, and pull the wire through the tape and the vinyl. What about the edge of the tape left under the vinyl?

After I posted I spent about 2 hours watching almost every master class video from 3m commercial graphics on YouTube. It gave me ideas to try what I wanted to, but didn't k ow how. Not I just gotta wait for this 110 degree weather to leave

I thought about some kind of tape around the bottom inside of the hood where the edge is to hide the edge in case it's jagged or whatever. I think I'm gonna redo my front overlay in carbon fiber now though

Sheet for my hood is on its way. If I'm lucky, ill have it this weekend. I had a few left over trimmings from previous projects. Might try practicing my techniques before I go for it on this one. Wish me luck ;)

They sent me 10 inches shorter than I ordered. Emailed them. They sent me the right size AND let me keep the old sheet. So (hopefully) this weekend I can do that and decide what I want to do with my front end. Might either replace the whole overlay with carbon fiber or Change it a little bit. Now sure yet.

So I got the replacement sheet in, and its SMALLER than the first one that was too small. I'm going to dispute it. But I guess I have 2 large sheets of vinyl and have to think of ideas. I might do my girls hood on her first gen just for funsies

60x48. Gives me an inch or so on either side and a few extra inches in the front. I ordered from some seller on eBay. Like 30 bucks. Have it on my mirrors for a month or so now and it looks good.

It's not. I wish. I'm gonna get the 3M for my roof. That's gonna cost a bit more

Thank you. I'm happy with it. The amount of rock chips you get here in AZ is ridiculous. This might at least protect my hood

In just scared of it ruining my paint. And the seller was trash. Had to send me 3 sheets of it to get te size right. Ridiculous.

A fully-wrapped xB? o_O

Someone at the last meet was charging 200 for a hood or roof and 350 for both. My hood would have cost 60 for 3m. And I hate to sound bad, but my work was waaayyyyy better than his. Thinking about doing a little side gig

I have knifeless tape coming. I'm Going to replace the front overlay with the carbon fiber and then do the sunken in area around my license plate. I watched ALL of the videos by 3mcg1. All master tips from the guy at 3M. I used a blade and left about an inch all the way around and pulled it around

Driving home from work today, my girl and I started joking about wrapping her whole xB lime green. I think by the end of the commute, it was less of a joke.

Tracking info says my knifeless tape will be here today. Hopefully the rain stays away so I can get out there and get some done

eBay. 60x48. I've seen 54 for 3m certified on there.
