Center Cap issue

Hey Guys,

im new to the forum, forgive me if Im breaking any rules for the site here. I checked all over the internet (and this site up and down) and havent seen this topic.

I just bought a set of axis shines in 19x8.5" for the front and 19.9.5" in the back.

they are beautiful. My issue is that the front center caps of the wheels will not fit if I mount the wheel b/c the axle sticks out and pops into it.

After talking to an Axis rep he told me he has the same set up with wheels/tires on his car but did not face this issue.

Anyone else have trouble with center caps of any specific rim? If so what did you do to remedy. Im trying to get a hold of 3mm spaces ITMT to see if this will resolve. I will update asap and post pics when all done (if It ever makes it to that stage :( )

how far is it sticking out? i used spacers to bring mine out a tiny bit. i dont have the shines but i know what your talkin bout. They were like 5 dollars each where i got my tires :)
Some rim companies make 2 types of centercaps, one "deep" centered and one more flat.  While Five Axis may or may not have that option, it is worth asking.
The main difference is that some FrontWheelDrive axles have long splines extending well out/into the air from the wheel hub.  So, a longer centercap would be needed.

think 3 mm will clear it?

its just sticking out enough to touch the caps. Im soooooo mad about it right now :( thx for the response fellas
yea 3mm would be good. mine are around 2-3mm. but only use one, anymore and you would have to get longer studs...

can i see pics? i wanted shines aint got dough like that though :(

yea sure, once i get the spacers n rims on there ill shoot some pics if this forum lets me. Im very new so i dunno how many posts you have to have to be able to add pics and all.
yea hopefully you can post. good choice on the wheels though! i wanted banzai's too...
If the axle just touches the center cap can you "glue" the caps in with some silicone from the back?

it touches just enough to push it off. There would still be enough gap for me to not trust doing something like that. I was half tempted to dremel a millemeter deep hole in the center of the cap and see how that worked out or maybe even cut off a few millemeters off the end of the axle.
