I've been treating my xB like its a luxury car. It's always clean and crisp ready to cart my family around or take my band gear to the next show.

Went to the cottage and managed to somehow come off the gravel road while avoiding running over a fox. Got stuck a bit in the ditch. When I reversed out with some help of friends pushing, I got hung up on a rock and severly dented my rocker panel. Ug. Not happy.

I fingered it would be an easy fix, but a friend informed me that it would be an expensive fix because the structure integrity of the car was now compromised.

Anyway, I decided to just call my insurance.

I'm a sad guy at the moment. I like my stuff looking new.

So the insurance papers from the shop came.

$3,300 CDN in damage. Luckily my deductible is $450.

Lots of stuff replaced...

Ah ****. My first car (Thunderbird) had a similar dent in that spot but it was not really noticeable. Anyway really sorry to hear that.

Ok... I had a heck of a time getting this fixed properly...

So after them having it for 8 days... I get it back and it looked like this..

The dent didn't seem "pulled out" far enough. I called my insurance to complain and they said, take it back to the shop. I got another rental... and waited another four days...Below is the first repair, which I though was not good enough.

So I get the car back the 2nd time....and I notice something right away. The dent and trim now look proper. The dent is pulled out... and the trim is streamline with the bottom.... but then I notice... hey? Is the colour off?

Yup.

So my insurance says... take it back to them again. Yes... a THIRD TIME! Below are the yellow paint pics.

So... third time is the charm. Car is fixed properly now....

What an ordeal.
