I've got an idea, it should be really simple for someone to do. I just don't have the time right now to design it.
Ok, I like seeing my avg gas, miles left in tank and time, but I hate having to press the button and try and drive, so my idea is, the display button for the gas/time is just a switch, what if you wired up a timer circuit, that would press the button ( short the button connections) at a set interval like 3 or 5 seconds, and have it scroll through the readings. Make a main switch on lower left by the traction control switch to turn it on or off or even with a variable switch to change speeds. Holding the button would still work, and it needs to be able to deactivate for clock setting, also not kill the battery while ignition switch is off. Toyota you read this? should only cost you a dollar or two to add this, and save someone form getting in an accident.
And while your at it, make a varible wiper!
Just my idea.
