I like the door sill logo light, but would like them in a different color. Has anyone looked into modding the light color on these? Also the ones avaliable are large and will only work on the front doors of the xB. I was wondering if it might be possiable to mod them into a smaller version to use on the rear doors. Anyone got suggestions for these mods? I am willing to drop the cash on one set and try the color change but not sure I am willing to drop the cash again to try a even harder mod for the rear.

I have the illuminated door sills on mine.. I like the blue, but if you want to change color you can. Basically under the door sill is this flat neon strip thing that lights up the logo part on the sill. Now for years, before manufacturers came up with this option, you can buy light up door sills on ebay. Ones that say Lexus or Mercedes are widely available if you look on ebay. The kits come with a set of sills, basic metal with double sided table and the word cut out and covered in plastic. Then you also get 4 of these light strips where it sticks to the cut out part of the sill. They come in blue, green, yellow, and red.. this was years ago, now there might be way more colors. I had this mod when on an E class and ML back before people knew it existed and they stare wide eyed at shows (circa early 90s). So you can contact the companies on ebay that sell the sills and offer to buy just the color strip part and change out your stock color. Just tell them you bought a set from him years ago and the light doesnt work or something and you need new ones.
