So I have a black XB2 and after washing the car, drying it always makes me mad. I have those microfiber orange towels and I always get little traces of cloth on my car or instead of getting the water off it, it seems just to smear and spread it leaving horrible water marks when looking at it closely. What can I do to fix this?

Use a chamois or another chamois type product (cheaper) which will not only not leave any residue but will dry it streak and spot free. I use a non-chamois product that I buy at the local Pep Boys or Autozone ($10). They're reusable also.

There you go...that's it. I have a couple of those. Cheaper than chamois..

The Absorber - for reals?

Shoots...we have one at home and never did think of using it. We always used microfiber towels to dry the car. Daughter has a Nautical Blue tC and it sure leaves mean streaks in direct sun.

Ok we'll give 'em a go and see how it works. Thanks guys.

I use to use the Absorber, but it starts to fall apart after a while and leaves small pieces of it on the car. I have a Black xb and use a Microfiber cloth from Sam's Club. They come in a large package, only about a foot sq., but I just wring it out a couple of times and the job is done.

Are you washing/wiping your car in the sun? It's not a good idea to wash/wax or so in the sun since the painted surface gets so hot it wants to dry the water super fast before you get a chance to wipe it off which tends to leave spots.

I still vote for the absorber or the chamois instead of the microfiber. I use the microfiber for detailing like wax, etc.

When it starts falling apart....it's time to buy a new one ;)

You said it... these PVAs last for a long, long, long time though so you don't have to worry 'bout it in the very near future!

I've used the Absorber for years now (I have 3 of them) and I have been very happy with it. Just try not to dry the car in direct sunlight and you should be good to go. You can pick up one just about anywhere (Wal-Mart, Target, Auto Zone) for $10.
