items from eBay

For my box from eBay, I got my OEM style rear spoiler painted in Stingray Metallic from TheSpoilerCompany for $130 shipped. Do a search for "primer scion xb spoiler" on eBay and you will find them. (The cost is $80, add $50 for paint). Communication was good and the item shipped promptly after painting. A tracking number was sent, I like that. The fit and look of the spoiler is fine. Paint match is perfect. Location is via the strip method. Only 2 attachment points (1 machine screw at each end) so I added a sheet metal screw at each end (from the inside of course!) and now it is very secure. Just as good as a factory spoiler at a fraction of the price.

I got my Kicker DS65.2 component speakers for my rear doors for $80 shipped via eBay from wminnovations who is an authorized Kicker dealer. Shipping was fast and the item description was accurate.

I've been dealing on eBay for almost 10 years and I've been burned once as a buyer, but since I used PayPal I got my money ($105) back. It's helpful to email via eBay's interface and also helpful to send copies to your personal email. That way eBay has a record and so do you. As others have mentioned I examine the seller's feedback to see if other people have been satisfied with the product you are considering, and also I see what other people have complained about.

A former eBay power seller here (couldn't keep the volume up) but they don't have power sellers per se any longer, so it doesn't matter that much.

If you are trying to get items that a lot of people want, or don't want to have to be at your computer at the last second to avoid losing an item, or paying too much, then the site BidNip is your friend.

BidNip offers a trial program with 5 free snipes (and I also get 5 free snipes when you sign up). You can sign up by clicking on this link:

Key Techniques makes the keyhole/wiper hole delete plugs paint matched to your car. I recently received my wiper delete plug in Voodoo Blue but it was packaged while still tacky so it has a smudge dead center. I was a bit annoyed by this but decided before I posted anything that would misrepresent the company I'd wait to hear back from them since I had emailed them about the issue and sent a picture of said blemish.

Today (Sunday) when most businesses aren't reading or writing emails Jon, the owner, emailed me back within a day of my email letting me know a new one would be at my door by Friday at the very latest. Needless to say, they are a very stand up company that clearly stands by their product. For $17 dollars painted and shipped you can't beat their stuff. I will suggest them to others in the future.

(Yes, I know this isn't eBay but I don't use eBay and felt it was worth mentioning.)

Just got an email from LED Mod tonight at about midnight saying the turn signal I ordered over a week ago isn't in stock even though their site and customer service agent said it was. Beyond that, it would be atleast 2 to 3 weeks before they would know when new ones would arrive to them. Not happy and will not be sending them any business in the future. Had their website or employee told me this I would've bought it through another vendor. Not pleased at all.

VVME is a good seller for cheap HID kits, they also sell under Visionari and MYDEPOTS.com.

I have had some 35 watt ones where the bulbs burned out after 2 years (50k miles) driving with them on the whole time all for 35.00 shipped to my door. The 50watt HID bulbs lasted another 2 years till I sold the car. I took the old 35 watt ballasts and gave 'em to a friend who got some 4300k bulbs from vvme 3 years ago and is still driving with them today! They sell cheaper on ebay than through their online stores, and shipping was 3 days to Portland, OR from China!

I am waiting delivery of a new set of 35 watt 4300k bulbs and ballast for the lows, and am going 50 watt 3000k HID (yellow) for the high beams =) I didnt want to use HID in my fogs because I was concerned with heat in a concentrated area melting the reflectors...
