Stupid question of the day by me the audionut. How do i take off the factory exhaust tip?

Pull. Might try a hammer to lightly tap the back of it.

Yup. Hard to believe, but it's only held on by friction...and maybe some corrosion, if your factory exhaust tip has been on for more than a few miles...

Of the rubber mallet . . .

(and the "back" it it is the part inside of the bumper, toward the nose of your xB.)

Spray it down with some PB Blaster if needed, just shoot away from your rotors and tires. Wooden peg and a BFH should get it though.

Do you know the width of the axle back? I'm thinking about getting a new exhaust tip as well.
