i was wondering if any one know where i can get a reasonable priced factory remote start
and is it Plug and Play
is there any cutting that i have to do

I just bought a nice one off ebay. Brand new in box AUDIOVOX PRESTIGE. One button very simple, however it does involve some wiring skills, and it does tap into the factory harness.
It was $75 shipping included.

Anyone ever done a remote start on a manual transmission? I'm not planning on it...because I would never remember to keep it in neutral (which could make for bad times). I'm just curious...

As far as I know in many states, if not all, it is illegal to put a remote start in a standard tranny car. The reason, as you stated, is the possibility of the car being in gear. I'm sure it's not much more complicated then a regular remote start, you just need to find a way to bypass the need for the clutch to be depressed.
