I bought a set of Weather Tech Digifit floor covers after reading that a lot of members got them. I installed them and noticed that the rear one has a lip on rear edge just under the rear seat cushin. It lays with a slight curl to it and doesn't fit against the carpet. Will this improve after a while or will have to put the cover out in the sun to make it uncurl?
Thanks for any comments,Dale

I've had mine in for about a 1-1/2 years. The back side of the rear mat still flops down. I tried laying it in the sun bent the other way during a hot summer day. It didn't really help.

I think the problem is that the mat is made to be flexible and since it is 3 or 4 inches tall over about a 5 foot span it just doesn't have enough rigidity to support itself. It bugs me when I notice it. Since I don't sit in the back, that's mostly when I take the mats out for cleaning.

What I plan to do (but never think of it when I'm at the store) is by some velcro tabs with the self-stick advesive on the back. Stick one side to the carpet and the other to the mat. I don't know if it will stick well enough to the carpet though. I may need to use a curved (upholstry?) needle and sew it to the carpeting. You could also just stick the hook part to the mat and let it grab on to the loops in the carpet. That may make a fuzzy spot on the carpet after a while though.

Something else that just popped into my head would be to take a small piece of aluminum step flashing from the hardware store ( Amerimax 2-1/2 in. x 7 in. Pre-bent Aluminum Step Flashing - 68707 at The Home Depot ). Glue it to the underside of the mat using silicone caulk. I would think 2 or 3 pieces of step-flashing would do it.

Step flashing-yea- good idea. Another thought, several guys I know are in the roofing bus. and have alum. flashing by the roll. I might ask one of them to give me a couple of feet, cut it to size and bend it, that way it will be long enough for each side.
Thanks for the idea, Dale

I saw one of the roofing guys yesterday and he gave me several feet of flashing. I will measure and cut it to size. I have a tool that I bought from Harbor Freight to bend the flashing to 90 deg. will let everyone know how it works.
Thanks for the idea, Dale

Let me know how it works out. Maybe I'll do mine this spring/summer.
