So I was at a garage sale this morning and there was a huge sub box with a JL Audio 500.1 amp bolted to it with 2 JL 12's (I couldn't tell what series) with a capacitor and some wiring. They were only asking $200 (which means I prob could have talked them down to $150-170).

I'm still arguing with myself for not buying it. That had to be a lot of $$ new. I don't need it, but HATE passing up a bargain.

Yeah, I was thinking about going back and offering $50 just for the amp.

That sounds like a trippy deal. I can't stand not having bass... I don't want my music screaming at me, I just want it to be loud. I think I hate the stock system. Feel / Hear / Natural....

I have 2 amps and a 10" sub. It will get as loud as I am comfortable with (and louder than most passengers like). I can definitely feel the base in my chest and it rattles the mirror. That's why I said I don't really "need" that system.

I do have a bit of a stereo addiction at garage sales that I'm constantly fighting. I think I have 5 home amps/receivers sitting in my garage right now. I obviously don't need that many, but hate passing up a good deal.

Ok, so someone give me a reason not to buy a Memphis amp and two 12" subs mounted in a box for $40 from a garage sale down the street. I don't need them, but I'm having a hard time passing up a good deal.

Memphis makes decent stuff don't they?

Well, I went back but the sub system was sold. I did buy a media blasting cabinet and stand for $40 though.

Today's garage sale find: 2002 Audi TT Quattro red convertible with only 23k miles. Priced a little high at 16k though. I've been looking for a car car lately anyway (for my daughter). She could drive the xB I guess. Though the whole idea of getting her a car is so she wouldn't be driving by xB.
