So. Got a ton of plcc-2's in white to swap a few LEDs. I did the traction control and foglight buttons first since it's been a few years since I have do e surface mount. The traction control is fine, but the foglight button is ridiculously bright. Almost think they will be too bright for my gauges. Anyone run into this? The foglight button lights up my knee and the door

You need to throw a resistor in-line or get an LED with a higher resistance. The stock orange LEDs have a higher resistance than most other colors. Had the same problem when I swapped the stereo button on the steering wheel.
