Hello! I am new to the Site, but not to Modding! These were a popular easy retrofit used in my old Mazda6. Now I see after puting the HID into the stock Xb housing that it NEEDS a retro...
SO
Here is the link to the kit: Morimoto Retro-Quik System - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc (use pulldown menu to select the Xb)
$150.00 (-10%to 25%) for the projectors and mounting hardware and use your own h1 or D2s bulbs and ballast
$300.00 (-10%to 25%) for projectors, hardware and HIT kit of (color choices 3200-5000k)

If we get 10 to pay up front (to them, not me) we get 10% off and for each person we get over we get 1% off up to 25% (ie if we get 23 people we get 23% off the kit)

Please add your name if interested. I do believe they work with paypal as well... I will look into the payment options.
We need at least 10 to get the ball rolling!

wait so if I get the projectors, will they work with my morimoto 3five kit? I'd just have to change the bulbs?
You would need to get new H1 bulbs, or go with the D2s bulb depending (I think they charge 25 shipped). You have the choice. But they will not work with our H11 bulb. The ballast are universal.
Just to make this clear, this is for a bi-xenon retrofit parts only. you will need to open the housing by baking or heat gun/hair dryer. but will swap in and out without any modification, and retain stock aiming ability. I am sure there are plenty of threads on that here from those who painted the insides, halos etc... for instructions on opening and resealing headlamps

I figured out they had these when I was right in the middle of my S2000 retro. Now my S2000 retro is done and I love it, but I may actually buy these...
man, I like the s2000 cutoff! Why do you want the switch? I like these over the s2000 because these give a HUGE colorshift flicker and you can adjust the crispness with washers... and the price is so cheap as is, (but the 10-25% off from a group buy would be great! If ppl dont jump on board Ill just pull the trigger myself just to show you all how great these things are.

I have AP2 S2000 projectors, which I like more than the AP1's. Most everyone prefers the AP1, but I like the slope for some odd reason.

This was my first retro and I think I did a few things wrong. Everything works well and everything's great, but not 100%. With the Morimoto setup, it seems next to fool proof.

Plus, I have an extra set of headlights.

I had HIDs in my OEM projectors for quite a while. HID projectors are soooo much better than halogen projectors with HIDs. For most people, halogen projectors with HIDs suffice. For people like me, they suck. That's why I retro'd S2K projectors in. The width is so much wider, more intense light, and overall better for night driving.

I have HIDs in my stock housings with no problems dude.

not sure who told you that you needed retrofit harnesses...
There is no "Harness" to retrofit. It is just a plug and play True HID Xenon projector swap.
If you have ever had or seen true HID projectors you would know that all you are doing by putting HID bulbs in projectors made for Halogen is blinding other drivers with un-needed glare. And before you say that they dont have glare, take a pic of your car 10 feet in front of a wall...(Recent image by xbphotos on Photobucket) all the light above the cutoff is GLARE! Then look at this video:
The vid is of the same projectors in this kit I am trying to get this group buy going for. That is how a HID should look. Not like the first pic which is what you have now.

still seems pointless to me.
are you trolling? I think a non legal, blinding HID plug and play kit is as point-full as, well...I think orange rims are... except the ladder will cause road safety issues for ALL OTHER drivers... did you not see the difference?! Your comment and mentality shows lack of foresight IMO. This is a interest thread for those who are INTERESTED... Not those who don't care about blinding the others on the road. Maybe I should have stated that in the title.

wow, $150! I'll see how much of a difference the 55w pair i just ordered ($40) makes.
if we get 25 ppl it will be 25% off- the 55w lows will just piss off other drivers and get the attention of cops... Thats why I put mine in the highs instead untill the retro is completed. Again, please look at the difference between the stock housing and the retrofitted in terms of "up-reflected" glare. Or you will find out the hard way next time there is any fog at night.

also, in your sentence latter would reference my rims, former would reference the HIDs.

and don't knock the orange rims, they're baller as ****.
I stand corrected on my semantics (and spelling) , but not on the idea that blinding other people with obnoxious or bright objects that hinder proper performance in exchange for "looks" is tactless. South Park Bro Down - YouTube

(Im poking fun at the rim color, but the weight of those blew me away! Nice choice!) bro.

TRUTH!

As far as people running HID's in halogen housings, most people don't care and feel that what they have will suffice.
I rarely got flashed with my HIDs in my OEM housings. I just wanted more width and a nice clean cutoff.
