Last July in South Carolina.

I hope Australia cools off a bit.
I read they added one or two new colors for the real temp and heat index on the weather maps.

I'd forgot about that when I posted.
Here, they are talking about either snow, an ice storm, or light freezing rain- depending on how the fronts cross.
South Carolina is normally a more temperate part of the US.
Most of the US is in deep-freeze.

You mean the team shops?
They start in Spartanburg, SC (30 miles from me) and go into Virginia. Most, however, are in the Mooresville and Statesville areas just northwest of Charlotte, NC (they are roughly 2 hours from me).
As for fans, I'm right in the middle of it!
I'm a bit more odd, as I am both a NASCAR and Formula 1 fan. There aren't that many of those around here . . .
Most like one OR the other.
Marcus Ambrose (former top Australia Supercar driver) had been doing pretty well, much better than Pablo Montoya (former top F1 driver) has done, since coming to NASCAR. The fans have embraced Marcus over here!
(In F1, I am a HUGE Red Bull Racing fan and would love to see Mark Webber win a championship. It's great how the "never developed as expected, but VERY lucky" driver is now a "top" driver toward the end of his F1 career . . .
Oh, and Webber, an Aussie, is infamous for being the unintended center of several of racing's most spectacular accidents, none of which were his fault-> yet has walked way from them all.
For example, he drove BOTH the "flying mercedes" cars in LeMans, had been airborne more than once in an F1 car and speared by Alonso in one that stopped the race (Alonso ended up hurt more).

Actually, I like a HUGE range of music. From Gregorian chants through modern stuff. Country and bluegrass/mountain music are some of my favorites, as is big band/ska/swing and classic rock.
Funny how you tend not to appreciate what is around you . . .
Where I live is 1.5 hours from the Blue Ridge Parkway (and 1 from where the roads start getting REALLY good) and 3 from good beaches (Charleston, SC). Plus, it's a small town with all those advantages and 3 good cities within 30-55 minutes drive and MAJOR cities on 2-3 hours drive.
I like where I live, except for it still being in the recession and HARD to find a job I actually want to do.
Would be nice to be able to jump between the US and Australia when you feel like it . . .
I'd love to see the Australian GP, as Albert Park looks nice. Though, a NASCAR speedway allows one to see more of the race itself (and appreciate the HUGE amount of noise 43 NASCAR cars makes).
Robby Gordon doesn't thrill me much, as I like Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, and several more, and even actually LIKE Kyle Busch (used to hate him, calling him "Bonehead," till I saw an actual race-> that boy can DRIVE!).
In F1, I particularly like Webber, Button, Vettel, Hamilton, Senna, and Perez. Most of the others I likes are out now. Team-wise I like Red Bull, Toro Rosso, McLaren, and Lotus/Caterham/MalaysiaF1 (pick-a-name). I used to REALLY like Stewart, Minardi, and Jordan, but all are gone now- sold, renamed, and new personality (2 mutated into 2 of my present favorites).

As for Austin- it looks nice, but is 1200 miles from me. Indy was only 450.
I wish they would use Road Atlanta, which Don Panoz owns (owner of the Panoz Le Mans team and home of the Petit Le Mans). The Panoz REALLY want an F1 race, and a number of (most retired) drivers list Road Atlanta as one of their favorite tracks of all. But, being in NASCAR country, and out in the country 45 minutes (or an hour depending on traffic) outside Atlanta it ain't happening with Bernie still in charge. The "scenery" isn't exotic enough, even if the track is great.
As for racing, Greenville-Pickens isn't far, the most local Laurens Speedway is a significant dirt short track, Kershaw (Carolina Motorsports Park) is a nice old road course east of Columbia, and Atlanta, Charlotte, and Darlington are fairly close.
