I bought my Xb new from a toyota dealership. The saleswoman said she drove it to a show and I bought it with 88 miles on it. no big deal. I've had problems with this thing, a lower control arm had loosened, there was a creaking noise by my cowel and a high pitched noise coming thru the car, possibly where the cowel was moving on the windshield.

I was washing my car this weekend, and noticed that my whole front end is out of wack. It's not lined up, one part of the front comes out further than the other side. Definitely not something Toyota would let off the assembly line without correcting it. So we surmised that the car had to have been in an accident and the toyota shop covered up the "boo-boo" and didn't bother to make sure everything was lined up correctly. Now that clears up why my lower control arm was loose and why the creaking is happening.

How do I prove now that it was in an accident? Bring it to a body shop around my town, ask them to take a look at it. I'm already in contact with Scion to go thru arbitration, just because I can't deal with the creaking noise..a brand new toyota product should not have creaks, IMO.

Adice, greatly appreciated.

That certainly doesn't sound normal!

Get that one back to them and get one that's normally shaped and all "squared up."
To some extent your opportunities for correcting the situatiom will depend on the laws in your state, but the bottom line is the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I would have your xB inspected by an independent body shop to determine the extent of the problem. Then politely, but firmly let the dealer know what you expect and what the consequences will be if they fail to meet those expectations.

The Internet is an amazing tool. I recently had a problem with AT&T Long Distance and after two hours on the phone with SEVEN different "customer service" representatives didn't get the resolution I wanted. I filed complaints with the State Attorney General's office and the Federal Communications Commisssion and sent a letter to the CEO of AT&T. I now have people coming out of the woodwork in response to the complaints and a direct line to an AT&T corporate manager in case there are any further problems.

With all of their recent problems I think that Toyota would be eager to help you.

You the MAN Geezer.
my 2010 has creeking from the front strut. Sounds like its just the spring settling or something. Im not too worried about it, but then again I bought mine with 4 miles on it.
take it back to the dealership you bought it from... sales has nothign to do with service.... ended up taking my 08 scion with 101 miles back tot he dealer 3 times within 24 hours to get everything checked out and corrected.
