I was looking at the Sparks web site the other day when I ordered my new grille,and saw the Meng HID headlight install kits. Has anyone got them and are they satisfied with the outcome? How about where the ballast go? Any comments?

I bought Meng HID's last Christmas. I bought the relay kit to go with them. It was an easy install and I haven't had any problems with them.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe there is someone that can offer an argument for one over the other.

I have both styles and haven't really seen any differences other than size. I have heard from other people that the new slim ballasts last longer.

Sometimes the exact opposite is true where the slim ones don't last as long. The only difference between the two is the size. Slim ballasts allow for install on tough cars with no space. The only other thing is the digital ballasts, which on some cars are required due to interference with factory stuff. Not the case with the xb, so go with whomever.

While I was installing the new grille,I looked for a mounting place for the ballasts.There is an area near the firewall on each side ~4 square " My question is,Is there enough harness to mount the units in this area? Also in the owner's manual,the drawing of the headlights shows the left side looking from the windshield labeling each lite (high beam,low beam).They show the outside location as high,inside as low. After turning on the headlights and looking at the lites,the low beams are on the outside(closest to the fenders,the highs on the inside closest to the radiator.

I was going to go with Meng until I saw that DDM's were half the price and a better warranty. I have DDM's in the mail as we speak.

In regards to the high beams, turn them on and look, that's the easiest way.

Okay just ordered the Raptor kit with 8K bulbs from DDM and a set of 6K bulbs in case I don't like the 8K or just too have a spare set, I will be going with Meng for my fogs when I have to money just because the're waterproof.

I got the Raptor kit because I've read that some slim ballasts brake easy and because the Raptor kit is cheaper (only by ten dollars, but when you'r 18 and don't have a job it makes a difference) what Kelvin number bulbs did you get?

8000K and there are a lot of locals here who have been running those 55W slims for years with zero issues.

One of the reasons I'm getting HID's is that installed the Oznium vert. vent lites and I want to match their color.Their web site says that they are between 4500K and 5000K. I'm thinking about the 6000k with 35 watt. Any thoughts on this match?

Got and installed my HID kit last night, I ordered the kit with 8K bulbs and a set of 6K, from what I can tell they sent me four 6K bulbs or four 5K bulbs. very disappointed will be calling DDM Tuning when I have time, I will let all of you know what happens.

Their colors are a lot more light than other brands. It's rumored that the ballasts are 55w so the color is washed out. My 8000k look like 6000k.

Weird, I got mine and they were all H11's like I ordered. I've heard their customer service is great so I'm sure they'll take care of you. If not, post up so people know not to order Raptor kits there.
