I just bought a Kendwood KDC-MP535U, ipod cable, wiring harness and xa/xb dash kit. How hard is it going to be to make this work with steering controls?

Also is it possible to make this work with existing Ipod/Aux jacks in XB2? Anyone know?

Good Q's. I hate that you cant change your ipod with the wheel or am I doing something wrong?!

I think the overall installation with a wiring harness would not be that hard but the other two issues would be.

The existing iPod cable would need to be rewired at the head unit to match the wiring for the Kenwood jack.

The steering wheel controls send voltage changes to the head unit which are interpreted as commands. The Kenwood would have to use the same levels of voltage changes to accept these commands IF it even had a wire remote feature you could tap into.

Yeah I think I will install what I got when it gets here this weekend....and will hold off on the PAS for now...gotta get finances to catch up LOL Boy mods are addicting....even the small ones I do to make my car appealing to me....definitely not show quality...but great for a daily driver on a limited income LOL
