I bought my 09 xb in October every thing has been fine
but to day i went to lift the hood latch and got shocked
ever since this morning after getting out the car i been getting shocked

any one know why this happens

i know my moms car does this never found out why...

Low humidity...

As the car goes through the air it attracts a static charge. Same principle as rubbing a balloon, or walking across the carpet in your stocking feet, then touching the TV knob. Oh, wait, nobody does that anymore, do they? OK, like touching your little sister on the nose. ZAP!

I don't put my hands on my car when I get out these cold, low humidity, days. I touch the door with my forearm to close it. Still get zapped, but not like at the fingers.
